Visions of Mana won’t have multiplayer, but producer Masaru Oyamada wants ‘to implement features like that in the future’-

Visions of Mana is the first new entry in Square Enix’s Mana series in 15 years, and with that comes some fundamental changes. Following my hands-on preview with Visions of Mana, I had the chance to ask producer Masaru Oyamada if cooperative multiplayer was ever considered for Visions of Mana, and if multiplayer had a place in the Mana series’ future.

“When I played Secret of Mana, the multiplayer co-op mode was something that really stood out and left a strong impression on me.” Oyamada said. “So when we were proposing this game internally, and discussing what it should be, we actually had that discussion on whether we should incorporate a feature like that.”

Though 1993’s Secret of Mana was the second game in the Mana series, it was the first entry to include cooperative play. Many subsequent Mana games carried on this tradition, including the Super Famicom version of Trials of Mana, Legend of Mana, and Children of Mana for the Nintendo DS.

Watch the powerful firebender Azula kick the crap out of Stimpy in the final Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 character reveal-

The surprise sequel Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 was announced back in July, and it struck us as something of a do-over, but with a heavy emphasis on more: More stages and updates of existing stages, a new campaign mode, more modes in general, crossplay, a visual spit-shine to every existing character, new minigames, and of course new characters. And now we’ve got the reveal of the final character coming to the lineup: It’s the Avatar firebender Azula, princess of the Fire Nation and daughter of Fire Lord Ozai.

Azula is a powerful firebender, but possesses something of an unstable personality: She’s a driven perfectionist with little patience for those who she believes fall short of her demands, and often treats those around her harshly, and even irrationally. She’s very handy in a fight, though, and her speed and agility make her dangerous even without her powers.

How does all that translate into NASB2? Developer Fair Play Labs has the word:

“Azula is a fierce…

My heart skipped a beat when the first two letters of my opening guess turned up green—surely this was the day I got a Wordle in o-oh. Oh no. What I ended up with instead was the dreaded “gutter”, one unknown mystery letter surrounded by greens, and no guarantee I’d find the right letter before I ran out of goes. I did get there—but only just.

Wow, one of the PS2’s great puzzle games just came out on Steam-

Of all the remakes, remasters, and revivals we’ve been showered with recently, from the sublime polish of Resident Evil 4 to the more uneven ports of various ancient arcade games, I don’t think anyone ever expected to see everyone’s—or at least my—favourite launch day PlayStation 2 firework ’em up, Fantavision, to pop up on Steam today. It’s a delightful deep cut.

Titled Fantavision 202X, this updated version of the previously Sony-published classic has been developed by Cosmo Machia, most recently responsible for Castle of Shikigami 1 and 2’s Steam ports. Going straight from porting old arcade 2D shmups to this particle-drenched puzzler may not sound like the most natural leap in the world. But the teaser video on Steam, showing fireworks lighting up city skylines and outer space to pleasantly jaunty tunes, does make it look like the team working on it have accurately captured the essence of the original.

Fantavision came out in the year 2000, a time when Se…

Xbox’s new controller is made of one-third reclaimed materials-

I’m a big fan of both controllers and the Earth since the first make some games more comfortable to play, and the latter is the place where I keep all my stuff. Microsoft has just announced a new special edition controller made with the upcoming Earth Day in mind. It’s called the Remix Special Edition as reclaimed and recycled materials were used in its construction. To really drive home that recycled look, it’s also pretty ugly and reminds me of Australian recycling wheelie bins.

The dull green monstrosity is made up of one-third regrind and reclaimed materials—regrind in this case refers to leftover Xbox One controller parts turned back into raw material. It also features reclaimed materials recycled from things like CDs and headlights. The controllers also come packed with the rechargeable battery pack, which I wish we saw more often.

It’s a nice effort, but feels like things that should be standard practice, especially for the construction of leisure devi…

Sebi’s centralised system will make life easier for nominees

Thirty-seven-year-old Manish Sharma (name and professional details changed), an IT professional in Mumbai, lost his father nearly eight years ago due to a disease. When Sharma started going through his investments he realised that the process was not just tedious but there were hurdles galore. The added burden: His father had not named any nominee.

“The documentation process was cumbersome as it required original documents and with my father passing away in a different city, it was difficult,” he said.

The issues regarding address proof, extracting the original share certificates, allotment letters, and even legal documentation proved to be burdensome. In the absence of any nomination, he had to file a petition in the court at the city of demise to obtain a succession certificate. He then had to approach each company individually where the physical shares were held and submit these documents to get the shares transferred under his, his mother an…
